Hi everyone! this week started out pretty rough... but thank goodness for companionship inventory! ha ha. . . those of you who don't know what that is it is; we give each other suggestions on how we can improve and talk about our strengths and weakness' so yea I LOVE that. Because I was seriously about to just give up and just decide that I was going to suffer through these next 6 weeks but then we talked it out =) yay. is that to much information....? maybe...
Me and my new favorite foods!
So this week we found out that there are 150 people arrested EVERY WEEK in Yucca valley, Joshua tree and 29 palms...HA HA! What!? that's a lot.. Also I found out that Johnson Valley (in my area) is where the movie "the hills have eyes" was filmed! it is a creepy place so I can see how that Creepy movie was filmed there..
Sister Rogers and I saved a Pigeon ! it was in the middle of a weird intersection and it had a broken wing or something so we stopped and I ran out and put my arms out to stop the traffic and sister Rogers grabbed the bird and we took off and drove him to a pet store!
This is a picture that is in the hall way of the 29 palms church building! I love it!
I am so happy that this area is finally picking up in missionary work! Members are inviting their friends to have dinner with us and we are teaching ALOT! when I got her 6 months ago we had ZERO investigators now we have around 12! There are people out there who are prepared to hear the gospel we just need to find them! I am also sooo happy with the ward the chapel is getting more full! I have noticed I am so protective over my wards... and my investigators... I don't want to leave them!
This week was testimony meeting =) hopefully you all attended and didn't skip out and go watch the dang super bowl... I love testimony meeting. This week there was a lot of talk about families and how we have the chance to be together forever. I couldn't help but think of my own family and how amazing they are. Sometimes we get caught up with all that we have to do from day to day and it seems like we spend the least amount of time with those that we actually want to be around, our family. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to be with my family for ETERNITY. This life is too short, I don't want to be with them for just time. I don't want to be separated after death. I want to be together forever, and that's exactly what Christ Gospel gives us! As we live according to the commandments of God and we keep the promises that we make to him we can live assured that we will be with our family for time and all eternity. It gives me so much peace to know this =) I cried during sacrament meeting just listening to all these people talking about their families. IT just hit me that I REALLY do have that opportunity to be with them forever. I know that I will only be separated from my family for a time, 18 months. I know that only through the sealing power of the priesthood that we can be together forever. EVERYONE on this planet has that opportunity! Anyone can go to the temple. GO TO THE TEMPLE! if you don't have a recommend go talk to your bishop! if your not a member talk to the missionaries they will teach you how you can get to the temple =)
It was 8:30 pm and we had a meeting at the church.. I didn't park in the lines because I didn't want sis Rogers to back me out... and this is what I found on my car! ha ha it was pretty funny. I didn't see it until I was actually driving and I was so ticked that I got a ticket! then when we got out I saw that it was fake haha thanks Elders.
2 of our investigators went to the Gilbert temple open house thing and they said it was an amazing experience! They said they felt the spirit so strong in the Celestial room =) We weren't able to teach them this week because she went to the hospital for a few days, but she is now home and she received a blessing!
Steve also received a blessing this week (thank you elders...) and he has been reading from the Book of Mormon EVERYDAY at 5:30 am. He is doing great!
I love teaching people about the Gospel! ! !
I know that God lives and that Christ Gospel has been restored. Blessings of the temple have been restored too!
I love you all =)
Love,
sister Kersey Davis
