Week 13

HI! this will be fast..
Random stuff of the week...
We got a referral from the media referral thing and we went to visit him and the wife answered and said that he isn't interested but......... we insisted to see him (yeah weird... i was being like pushy.. how annoying) he has stage 4 cancer and is a double leg amputee. Both of his legs were shot off by 45 mill. He was really cool! He said he wasn't interested but we talked to him for about an hour and a half and by the end he said "You know what, I wasn't interested at first about what you girls have to share with me but now i am!" we gave him a book of Mormon and a plan of salvation pamphlet. We bore our testimonies and we plan on following up with him this week! oh my word tho.. i was so.... i don't know i want him to have the gospel SO BAD! I want him to accept the gospel SO BAD! I want him to have the blessings!!! AHHAHHAHAHH!!!!! Sister Gardner had a dream that he called us and said he wanted to get baptized ha ha I really hope that happens! OH! so we left him with a prayer before we left and of course the phone rings while i am praying and....... the person leaving the message started yelling and swearing and i was just like "uh... please bless... uh... uh..." MAN!!!! oh well.. oh yea! he was in sports illustrated and inducted in the hall of fame! he had so man trophies and stuff. he did wheel chair bowling. ok next story.

ha ha ok funny story... we ran into these 2 young men... they were attractive and we started talking to them.. i was getting all flustered it was ridiculous... we wrote down our number and the address to the church and then i went to hand him my planner and then i realized it was my planner...... oh my... im an awkward sister missionary...............

This week has also been a good week for member missionary work! Our ward and branch is awesome! I have said this several times already but... i can't believe how missionary focussed both of these wards are! For the past 5ish maybe even more weeks there has been either talks on member missionary work or classes! I love seeing members wanting to get involved and getting excited about hastening the work of salvation!

The cutest dog ever!!!! His name is Max.
Oh man I sweriously LOVE LOVE LOVE him! I want to steal him.

On Thursday we gave a ride to a recent convert to the family history center. We recieved a refferal from one of the workers! We called her a few minutes after that and invited her to come to church! On Sunday we got a call from one of our members telling us that Melinda (the referral) just texted her and said "see you at church today" She was so excited and so were we! So we met Melinda and church and whisperd to members to go talk to her and make her feel welcome ha ha and they totally did! She was surrounded by women in the ward! She was smiling and seemed to really feel loved! After running back and forth from YSA branch coucil and classes we told her that we would love to teach her about Joseph Smith sometime and she agreed! 3 hour class was starting so we didn't get to set up a time to go visit her... whoops.. BUT! That night we got a phone call from a different member who we had previously set up an appointment with "she said hey we are going to have to change up the lesson on Thursday because I invited Melinda to come over". PERFECT. We have awesome member missionaries in our ward!

One more story. We decided to try out the weekly planning out in public thing. Last week we did it and had one oportunity to talk to a stranger who sat kind of close to us, but unfortunately we didn't talk to him. I don't know why. This week though, we were determined that if we had an opportunity we wouldn't let it go by. We did weekly planning in the park and there was a man listening to music and doing Yoga. We yelled to him "looks like your having fun" He then walked over to us and sat down. We started talking to him about yoga, then he asked us what we were doing out here. We talked to him about the Book of Mormon and the Bible and the restored gospel and a few other things! It was so fun! I LOVE introducing people to the gospel! We gave him a Bible and a Book of Mormon. We read a little bit and invited him to come to church and left. On Sunday he came to church and brought a friend! He felt a little overwhelmed by the first hour so they went home after that, but he wants to learn more. We are planning on giving him a church tour this week!

This is one of my lunches :) I try to be healthy.

CONFERENCE IS THIS WEEKEND!!!!! we are so blessed to have a living prophet of God on earth today! We have the oportunity to hear from him and his apostles on Saturday and Sunday! We need to be prepaid though! Something our Mission president always says is "puny preportation = puny revolation" in Alma 43:19 it talks about how Moroni prepared the Nephites for war! They were prepared with breast plates and with arm shields and shields to defend their heads! We can prepare ourselves by reading our scriptures and praying and great pondering! When we go into conference this weekend lets go in with a question! I promise that if you ponder and pray before conference and have question going into it you will recieve an answer at conference! Ok I have to go! I love you all! have a wonderful week!

Love,
Sister Kersey Davis

Week 12

Yesterday during my 6th hour of church i began to day dream about my life before i was a missionary... I can NOT believe i am here! Who would of thought! NOT ME! But as i look back there has been so many experiences that have lead me to where I am now as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Anyway here are some random things that have happened this week.

This is Nora. She is awesome! She is a recent convert. She got babtized in April. She is getting married soon as it's been her year mark! I am so excited for her! Temples are amazing! She has 2 dogs named Foxy and Rocky. They are adorable! I love love love them. I hugged Rocky a few days ago and it almost made me cry. Haha I am way too obsessed with dogs.

I was eating some pudding at a members house and with my front teeth i bit something..... crunchy-ish.. i was like "......uh... what what the" (in my head) then i took it off with my finger and it was some kind of worm/bug/maybe maggot!! I was repulsed for like 5 seconds then i told myself... "it's protein, your fine" "you will live" "eat whatever they give you" so yeah. It tasted gross. Ick.. but i'm still alive!

Alan is our ward mission leader for the YSA branch. He is really cool! He is a returned missionary and loves missionary work! His dog is named Muppet. :) He is going to BYU-I in December. We will be sad when he leaves.

I'm training Sister Gardner she 5'10 (yahoooo! i'm not the tallest anymore!) she is from Pleasant Grove, UT! She Graduated from Snow college. She is a hard worker, which i LOVE! She is pretty quiet and we are very different BUT! I love breaking people out of their shells so... it will happen! she is very brave and willing to try new things. Training isn't as scary as i thought it would! It's actually pretty fun. We both woke up Wednesday morning with a sore throat.. so we have been sick. We are just getting over it! Thank goodness!

Sister Gonzalez and Davidson scared Sister Mickelson and I with fake rubber spiders. They taped one to the ceiling above my bed and I screamed and Sister Mickelson almost had a heart attack. She can't see very well so she thought it was real. Haha it was quite funny.

Funny story.. we were at a members house and we were teaching them and our voices both sounded pretty bad but my voice was HORENDOUS!!! it sounded like i was plugging my nose to the max! I felt like such a fool trying to bear my testimony with a Squidward voice! oh man it was so embarrassing ha ha ha i have never had this bad of a cold in my life!! don't worry though it's almost gone =) i am now back to bearing my testimony in a Kersey voice i mean a sister Davis voice..

We taught an old man named George this week! he is really smart and has been to the salt lake temple grounds. He bought himself a Book of Mormon and has read it!!! We plan on teaching him the restoration on Tuesday =D YAHOO!! my favorite lesson!!

This is Bagira. I love him! He is the most cuddly cat! I'm planning on stealing him when I come home. JK but maybe...

I received a package in the mail this week from Pat! Thank you so much Pat =D it made my day! I got all teared up. I love the chocolate! The first thing i ate this morning was the caramel chocolate candy!

So we met a woman from Fiji her name is Ashabana. She is Indian (from India) I asked her if my name really was Indian and she said YES!!! COOL! Kersey really is an Indian name!!! I have an Indian name... how cool =) someone once told me that but they weren't Indian so i didn't really believe them.... but she is for real Indian so i believe her! She is Muslim and really kind. She invited us to one of her little dinner get together with her Christian friends. ha ha we probably won't go... but we will invite her to the relief society conference broadcast thing this weekend!!

Family photo before Sister Mickelson left for Redlands.

We have such an awesome ward and branch. Both of them have so many members who are willing to do missionary work! In the Yucca Mesa ward we had an investigator who attended church for her first time and it was such a great experience for her because of the members! We got stopped several times by members introducing themselves to her and not just introducing themselves but having actual conversation with her! After relief society we just left her with a member because they were so into the conversation that they were having with each other. It made me SO happy!

In the Sunrise YSA branch we had a really inspiring branch conference. President Lotez and president Madsen both talked about member missionary work. President Lotez challenged the members to call a contact in their phone who is not a member and to ask them if they could stop by today to give them a gift “a Book of Mormon”. Jovina volunteered and left the congregation to make a phone call. She called two people!!! How brave! I was so proud of her. Then our ward mission leader and another member texted one of their non member friends and president Lotez gave those Books of Mormon to give as a gift. What an amazing gift to give someone! A gift that will influence their Salvation! They continued to train us how to talk to our friends about the gospel and how to invite them to church and other activities. They even role played! It was truly inspiring and got me WAY pumped! They made several more challenges and handed out more Books of Mormon.

We had 2 investigators who went to achievement days so we went with them and this is my water color painting. There is an amazing artist in our ward and she was kind enough to share her talent with the young women.

Last night we had dinner with a member couple and 3 of their non member friends. After we read from the Book of Mormon and discussed principles. When the members bore their testimonies the spirit was SO strong I couldn’t help but to add my own testimony. I get SOOO excited when I feel the spirit that strong. Having lessons with non members IN members home truly makes a difference. I love hearing testimonies of converts! I love the gospel! I love sharing it! Sometimes it is hard. Ok… a lot of the time it is hard BUT the times when I feel the spirit so strong and I see someone’s  knowledge and testimony of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ grow, that’s when I forget about trials, that is when my own testimony grows and my love for my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ grow.

Love,

Week 11

I'm Staying in YUCCA VALLEY!! and.... i'm training...... uh....... =/ yeah.. i'm only a little nervous...

Ok so i don't have much time to email... SORRY!! so I will just go over the highlights of this week.

Sister Davis, Sister Mickleson, Sister Gonzalez, & Sister Davison.
We are all roommates and we laugh a lot! Except in the mornings... I don't talk to them in the mornings. Mornings are SO hard!

1st! AMAZING lesson with brother (non member) and sister Valentine! We watched "Joseph Smith the prophet of the restoration" yes the hour long one. They both loved it! After we bore our testimonies and talked about eternal families and our favorite parts and stuff. The spirit was SO STRONG! We asked bro Valentin is he believes that that movie was true... he said "yes" we got talking then right before we left... we asked... "so if you believe the movie is true.. do you believe that Joseph smith is a true prophet of God?' he said..... "YES"!!!!! WHAT!>!>!?!?!!?? WHY ARE YOU NOT BAPTIZED!! I was thinking....... but.... I was too flabergasted to ask him about baptism... so... i didn't... but we plan on it this week!

This is my zone. Desert Hot Springs, 29 Palms, Palm Springs Augua Caliente, and us Yucca Valley! We have a HUGE zone area.

ummm... i have been having a hard time sleeping lately and i've been extrememly sleepy and tired. Tuesday and a less actives house it was really warm and this calming relaxing music was playing and i was in a recliner and... these were my thoughts... " i'm going to take a 30 second nap right here... just lay your head back.. they are talking.. they won't even notice... even if they notice sister F is cool enough she will let you sleep... no... i can't i'm a missionary.. what is wrong with me! ok ok i will just close one eye for a few seconds and then switch to the other one.." those were my thoughts! I ended up not taking a nap during our visit with sister F... my word... i am horrible..

Pictures at the Redlands Temple. We did a session and it was AMAZING! The new video is really good. Go to the temple if you haven't gone in a while. Or if you haven't EVER been to the temple you should work towards it :)

Found out that chapstick has addicting substances in it..... so...i've been using lip gloss instead. i'm sad though because i just bought 3 new chapsticks. I told a member if she would give up some of her addictions i would give up chapstick............ ah.........

On night after a long day of having my hair up in a messy bun

Remember the 14 year old boy I told you about? the one that i thought hated me and went and bore his testimony and told everyone that he didn't' believe in the church?? WELL we met with his family this week and he was actually really nice! well... for him he was! We had actual conversation with him and he offered us granola bars!!!!! WHAT! and! He stayed in the room for the lesson!!!! WE WERE SO HAPPY!

This is my planner. This is the sloppiest day I've had so far.

WE went to the temple. I was extremely tired and i am ashamed to say that... I almost completely fell over during the last 10 minutes of the session... I was really tired! i woke up to my head falling in my lap! it was weird.. that has only happened to me like 3 times in my life. but the new temple video is pretty interesting... i will have to get used to it. GO SEE IT!!! it's has a lot more emotion, which i like.

We did something to our air conditioner so it just blows cold air ALL the time. This is me using my shirt and hoodie as blankets. Haha Sister Mickleson took a picture of me. Look I'm wearing my ear plugs! EVERY NIGHT! They save my life. Love them.

president Lotze told a story at stake conference... his wife and 2 kids were at the park or something and there was a kid playing with some trains and her son starts freaking out "i want to play with the trains ahhahhah please please" she says " , that boy is playing with the trains you need to be patient and wait"  Then the little 5 year old daughter says "or you could make a new friend and share" we can relate that to so many different happenings in this life! are we going to sit back and wait... or will we be like a little child, make a new friend and share? There are SOO many people out there who NEED the gospel. We need not to wait around. We need to SHARE! ok i've gotta go! bye! I love you!!!!

Love,

Sister Kersey Davis

Mormon Street. How cool is this?! Sadly no Mormons live on this street.

Week 10

I tried to flip my hair out. I think it might be my new favorite hair due! I actually feel like this hair due makes me look like the president's wife. Like all sophisticated and wise. Haha and old.

Hello =) this week has been really good. There has been a lot of laughter and a few tears. We have one more week until transfers! ah... I don't know what is going to happen! I hope i stay... I am really nervous that i will be training.... crap. BUT I know Heavenly Father is mindful of me and that what ever happens is what he needs me to do! so.. I'm just going to start off with a bunch of random stuff that has happened this week =)

Jesus Park. Lame p-day activities planned by sister mickelson and sister davis.

We had the Sister Trainer leader come out with us one day and it was really good to get some advice and feedback and to be able to learn from her example. She has been out for 11 months and she is SO passionate about missionary work! and she does NOT want to go home. When i asked her how long she had left she got all butt-hurt. Hopefully that will be me in a few months! BUT we met this 12 year old girl named Bonnie and we were talking to her on her door step and sister Jones is just being awesome and asking questions and making her laugh and then she is like "well.. can we sing you a song?" In my head I was like " uh.. excuse me..? sing... here? Oh... this is weird.. i feel awkward" so we sung I am a child of God to her and the spirit was there but it was hard to concentrate just because i was being dumb and feeling awkward. I couldn't tell if she was feeling awkward or if she was recognizing the spirit. Ha ha but after the song Sister Jones asked her how she liked it and there was a LONG silence... and she said "I liked it, it was pretty.." we set up a return appointment.. she wasn't there when we went back.. but! we won't give up! I don't know if I will ever randomly sing to someone ever again.. well...  if the spirit tells me to i will... but.................................. idk.. ha ha I love hymns and they invite the spirit every time a hymn is sung! Sister Mickelson and I sing hymns everyday before companion study and i LOVE it!

There were a bunch of Jesus statues or saints or apostles or something. They were pretty cool.
We ate dinner with the Marine couple this week (wife is a member husband is not) and we talked about why we are on missions and the Book of Mormon and I just got OVERLY excited when i talked about the restoration and Joseph smith ha ha its ridiculous... I was like shaking because i was so excited ha ha I was telling him how i came to know Joseph Smith was a true Prophet and ha ha just talking about all of that stuff gets me way excited and i start talking a lot and talking with my hands and they laughed at me =/ ha ha it was ok because i was laughing at myself too. This week we are going to watch MY FAVORITE MOVIE with them "Joseph Smith the prophet of the Restoration". He has had experience with the Holy Ghost he just doesn't recognize them.... but we asked him if he were to pray and receive an answer that this is the true church would you be baptized....................? and he said MAYBE!!! after she texted us and said that he has always said no and that was the first time he has said maybe!! He is such a good guy, so kind and humble! He is for sure a Mormon at heart! well... everyone is... they just need to remember right..?

Some old rock church cathedral thing...

I had the WORST Charley-horse EVER! I woke up in the middle of the night to my calf feeling like it was being....... i don't even know! It was the worst pain i think i have ever been in! after i got it to calm down a little bit... i went back to sleep and for almost a week my calf was EXTREMELY sore.. i walked weird when it was really bad.

This picture is disgusting... Don't judge! It was sister davidsons birthday so before we went to bed we did face masks and it was really fun! I really like face masks!

ha ha like i said in the beginning of this email I have laughed a lot this week. Thank you to sister Mickelson and my weirdo roommates. Ha ha at the end of the night sister mickelson and I were ending our planning with a prayer and we are really really tired at this point... and she begins the prayer and totally messes up and says something really funny.. and when she is low on sugar or high... i don't remember... her mind isn't clear... anyway! I try to hold in my laughter but i couldn't so i start laughing during the prayer then she starts giggling then we had to start the prayer over ha ha.. also in a few of the prayers this week she threw in some words in English accents ha ha ha and she doesn't even notice it!

ha ha sooo weekly planning is Sister Mickelsons most dreaded thing to do. we were both really tired and we were trying to do weekly planning and i was talking to her and she starts going cross eyed and her head starts to droop... SHE FELL ASLEEP!!! while i was talking to her!! HA HA HA HA it was the strangest thing. . y'all probably don't even think these things are funny.. but... sister Mickelson made me bust a gut this week! we were in a lesson at a less actives house and we were just all sitting there and a man walks into the room and she SCREAMS! ha ha ha ha ok.. enough.. these stories aren't as funny as i think they are..

Haha Sister Mickelson pulling the face mask grossness off her eyebrow

ok last randomness... we met with the investigator in the YSA branch and he had a question... and... sister Mickelson and I DID NOT know the answer to it... we were like uh..................................... I read the scripture again.. uh...................... sister Mickelson repeats his question asking him if we understand it.. and we are like uh............. then! our branch mission leader (a return missionary of 4 months) walks in and we are like HEY Allen how would you answer this question?!??! ha ha i can only imagine what my face was doing... i was so distressed! In my head i was like... "crap.... i don't know! pray about it!" Luckily Allen knew how to answer the question =) we are so blessed to have such an awesome branch mission leader! So happy he was there..

DONE.

This is my hideous "sister missionary" hair due. Some days I just don't like doing my hair. Or makeup...

Ok So sister Mickelson and I spoke in the YSA sunrise Branch and we talked about Member missionary work... I'm just going to tell y'all about what i talked about.. I'm pretty much going to give you my talk via email.. typing...

ok so there are several ways that someone can be introduced to the restored gospel... today i wanted to make fun of one of them and talk about the other... one way is through missionaries/tracting... and this is how it usually goes.. I'm going to act out tracting... KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.. they answer the door. "HI MY NAME IS SISTER DAVIS I AM A MISSIONARY FOR THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTERDAYSAINTSWE BELIEVETHAT THESAMECHURCHTHE JESUSCHRIST ATABLISHEDWHENHEWAS ON EATH HAS BEEN RESTORED THROUGH A PROPHET WE HAVE A MODERNDAY PROPHET WHO LEADS US AND GUIDES US FAMILIES CAN BETOGETHERFORETHER!! CHASTITY...BLAH BLAH WORD OF WISDOM..." Door... SLAM! awkward... and NOT effective.. people don't let strangers talk to them or let them in their home these days... and they don't like to be preached to.. there are so many more ways the gospel can be shared... like through the internet! mormon.org.. Lds.org and pass along cards even tv comercials or adds.. BUT the most effective way for the gospel to be introduced is thought MEMBERS. Through YOU.

This is what happens when you try to teach people and they have 1,000 cats running around.
Spirit. GONE.

I've been a member my WHOLE life and I've never known my role in missionary work... I didn't know i had a role.. maybe its different in Utah but.. i had no idea! I played soccer at Utah state where 97% of the team wasn't LDS... i thought to myself these girls would be awesome Mormons! but.. i don't want to be weird and preachy to them.. one girl in particular.. Kassi. She was from the south and had never really heard of Mormons before and we were pretty good friends and i thought.. nah.. she wouldn't accept the gospel... plus i didn't know how to share it with her so i just didn't... I have heard "every member a missionary" but i never new what that actually meant?!?!

Haha an investigator has a book all about Mormons and I found this on one of the pages and it made me LOL and I thought it was so funny! I love humor... The Bible says it! Ephesians 4:5.

Prophets have been talking about member missionary work since Joseph Smith times. President George Albert smith in 1948 said... " That is your mission, my brethren and sisters of the Church, that is your RESPONSIBILITY. Freely you have received and our Heavenly Father will expect you freely to share with his other sons and daughters these glorious truths. We will attain our exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom only on the condition that we share with our Father's other children the blessings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and observe the commandments that will enrich our lives here and hereafter" Oh... it's a responsibility....!?! Ok... i did NOT know that...! But now i do. And now you do to.

So how do we do this? How do we fulfill this responsibility? well if you notice president George Albert Smith used the word "SHARE" he didn't use the word teach or preach. You as members have the responsibility to SHARE the gospel. It's our job as missionaries to teach. When someone is investigating the church there are two types of conversion that need to happy before baptism.. there is a spiritual conversion and a social conversion. Both are very important and both NEED to happen.

We got home and our apartment was smoking and the fire alarms were going off! It kinda scared me. Sister Gonzalez left her noodles on the stove. They got burnt to a crisp! And we still can't get the noodles off the pan and our apartment STILL smells like smoke. We are very blessed.

It's my responsibility as a full time missionary to take care of the spiritual conversion. To teach them that they are a son or daughter of God to teach them to pray, to preach to them about faith, call them unto repentance, to help them recognize the spirit, and to help them have their own spiritual experiences! it's your responsibility as a member of Christ restored church to take care of the social conversion. People need to feel welcome and loved. All you need to do is Invite them. invite them to church.. or and activity... INVITE. not preach.. not teach... INVITE. answer questions.. be proud! Be true to the faith. have pictures in your car or on your phone or computer of temples or Joseph smith or something that might trigger a question and then be prepared to answer!

This is Max! He is soooo cute! He is 200 pounds! He is adorable. Sister Mickelson screamed on this night because their other dog jumped on her. Ha ha! It was so funny! She hates dogs.

There is a scripture i want to share with you it's in Doctrine and covenants chapter 33 verses 8-10.. it says.. "open your mouths and they shall be filled, and you shall become even as Nephi (COOL, would love to be like him!!) of old, who journeyed from Jerusalem in the wilderness. 9. yea OPEN YOUR MOUTHS and spare not, and you shall be laden with sheaves upon your backs, for lo, i am with you.10. yea OPEN YOUR MOUTHS and they shall be filled (cool) saying: repent, repent, and prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight;for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

We checked my blood sugar with sister mickelson's diabetees thing. And I was soooo scared to poke myself! It took me like 5 minutes! But it didn't even hurt and I was 122. I am so grateful for a healthy body.

What do you think our Heavenly Father is trying to say to us here??? OPEN YOUR MOUTHS! That's all you need to do, is open your mouths. But.. why do we do this? because we have what they need. Everyone needs the gospel. We want them to have the blessing that come from being baptized into Christs church. The blessing from having the constant companionship of the holy Ghost.. that guidance and direction that everyone wants. My friend that i was talking about in the beginning, Kassi. Little did i know she was taking the missionary discussions. She was baptized. (i begin to get choked up.. and am again while typing this) she is now serving a mission. It changed her life. All because a friend opened their mouth. All because a friend Invited her to church. The gospel is for everyone. . don't judge like i did.. Our Heavenly Father is preparing his Children all we have to do is find them and ask them.
If there are any of you out there who feel like you can't share the gospel because you don't know enough or you don't have a huge testimony... i can tell you from experience that sharing the gospel is what WILL strengthen your testimony. So go do it! go open your mouths! go invite!

Someone's front yard!

Here are some statistics for the USA... 1 in every 1,000 people contacted by missionary i.e (is this the correct way to use i.e...? idk!) tracting or street contacting get baptized. if you let the missionaries use your name  80 out of 1,000 people with receive the blessing of being baptized.. and if you invite your friend to take the missionary discussions 340 out of 1,000 people with receive the blessings... BUT if you invite your friend to have the missionary discussions in YOUR home 660 out of 1,000 people will be baptized. Uh....... MEMBER MISSIONARY WORK!! Member involvement is very important.. President Spencer W. Kimball said (one of my favorites. get ready!) "now is the moment in the timetable of the Lord to carry the gospel farther than it has ever been carried before.. Many a person in this world is crying, knowingly and unknowingly, "come over... and help us." He might be your neighbor. She might be your friend. He might be a relative. She might be someone you met only yesterday. But, we have what they need. Let us take a new courage from our studies and pray, as did Peter, "and now, Lord, grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word".

I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father. I know that I am a daughter of God. I have a Savior and redeemer. I love this gospel so much and i want the whole world to experience that happiness, joy and peace that I have from living the gospel. That is why I am on a mission. I say these things in the name of my savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

WHOAHHH.. this is the longest e-mail I've ever sent in my life.. But really... I am here to help others come unto Christ. I am here because i want everyone to be happy and that's what this gospel allows. I hope my emails home are  helping my family and others who read my blog. This Gospel is true! Now go invite the person our Heavenly father revieled to your mind as you read my talk =) and if no one came to your mind.. go pray and as who you can focus on.. who is prepared. I promise you he will make it known to you who is prepared.
INVITE.

Love,
Sister Kersey Davis

Week 9

I can't believe i'm a missionary..................... SO WEIRD! I meet the coolest people everyday! The members here are so strong, I commend them. I know that I was born in Utah into the gospel for a reason...

RANDOM STUFF:
At the YSA FHE last Monday it rained so we just went in the church and played some games. I played soccer with this kid named Chadrack, he's from Africa, he got baptized last year. I can't ever understand him... i can't understand anyone with an accent! anyway.. we played one on one...  it was really fun! I miss playing soccer!

There was a flash flood in Joshua Tree and... our car looked like this for a week. It was embarrassing. There were HUGE puddles of mud that we had to drive through. It scared me. I thought we were going to get stuck. Thank goodness for 4-wheel drive!

Their is a marine couple in our ward. She is a member and he is not. He is from portic and he is AWESOME! he is a member at heart.. he come to church every week and she plays the piano. They are MARINES!! oh my word.. I felt like i was in the presence of celebrities... they have done and gone EVERYWHERE!! After we left their home i felt like i just took a trip around the world. They made me want to be a marine! Then they handed me a gun and i was like never mind! Guns scare me too much.. it wasn't even loaded and i was still freaked out... hopefully we can start teaching him, they have a crazy schedule though.. so its hard.

So.. I wear my Hawaiian sandals around in the apartments.. one day i forgot to put my hideous sister missionary shoes on and i totally wore my Hawaiian sandals to one of our appointments ha ha ha then after that one we ran home for me to change them and we went inside and did some other stuff and left for our next appointment and..... again i forgot to change my sandals!! oh my word... i felt like a fool.. good thing i didn't get stung by a scorpion!

This is the 2,000 Stripling Warriors, Sister Davidson sprayed them with cologne :) Yummy. Look how little my hand looks. It looks all girlie and dainty!

Our neighbors have some little children and we talk to them sometimes and a few days ago their 5 year old son was walking and carrying a diaper and i was like "oh no.. you got diaper duty!?!" and he yelled..." screw you!" and i was like "................................" what the.... I was so taken back.. it was very strange.. I haven't heard those words in forever! let alone from a 5 year old! pooor little boy...

I taught false doctrine to a new investigator.. ha ah ah ha i told him that Moroni compiled the Book of Mormon. ha ha whooops... hopefully he forgets what i said....

Sister Mickelson and I talk in English accents all the time now... surprise surprise! and at our last dinner appointment she randomly started talking in an accent to the family ha ha I was trying to hide me laughter.

It's really hard for me to concentrate during lessons when people have cats and dogs... I just CANT stop petting them and playing with them! i'm a horrible missionary........ just kidding that only happened... a few times..

Mint Water. Freaked me out but I felt adventerous.

Their is this 13 year old kids.. the kid that made fun of me when i said "y'all" he hates me.. yesterday in testimony meeting i looked at him and smiled like the  "go bear your testimony" smile thing and... a few minutes later he gets up! and sister mickelson and I were like WHAT!?!? awesome! then... he got up there and told everyone how he doesn't believe in the gospel and he thinks that everyone can live a happy life without religion................. AH! it was pretty..... heart breaking. . . oh. my. word. . .

This week I have seen many blessings! Sister Mickelson and I went to go visit a less active family and when we got to the house a man named Ken answered the door and he was like... "yea they haven't lived here for about a year" and we said.."oh............ hm.. well HEY we are missionaries, have you ever heard of Mormons?" then we got talking and he said "you know what? I've been thinking my son needs some church in his life!, and maybe i do too" we gave him a book of Mormon and we visited the next day and read the introduction and talked about some things and he said he would read it in 1 week! (good luck..) yahoo! so we are excited for him! he was really kind and sincere so i know that God will answer his prayers and that he will find out for himself that the book of Mormon is true =)

We also were able to teach a young man named Brian! He is friends with some of the guys in the YSA ward. We taught him the restoration and put him on date for September 21st!!! =D it was a light commitment... but none the less!! Sister Mickelson and I struggled a little teaching the restoration BUT in the end he felt the spirit and he was really excited! he is excited to read the book of Mormon! Now we just need to get him to church. His member friend was there and it was amazing to see him bear his testimony and tell him how the gospel has blessed his life. Everyone needs the gospel! We are blessed when we keep the commandments! Everyone NEEDS those blessing!

Best dessert ever! This is RAD chocolate, tons of different flavors! My favorite was the spicy chocolate! It was so weird! Spicy! Lavender chocolate was pretty cool too... It was fun trying all the different kinds!

We have also started to teach a 18 year old girl named Balina. She is the sweetest most optimistic girl i have ever met! I had to hold in my tears as she told us about her life and all the trials she has been through. I can't even believe the things i hear out here... I thought these situations were only in movies and in foreign countries.. She is sooo strong and wants her relationship with her Heavenly father to grow stronger! She knows she will get baptized but she just wants to be ready or something... She has such a kind heart =)

I know that this gospel is true =) that's why i am out here. I want others to receive blessing and feel the happiness and joy that comes from being a member of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.  The gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the same gospel that Jesus Christ established when he was on this earth! uh.. COOL! Jesus Christ came down to this earth to establish his church, to set and example, to perform miracles and to atone for our sins. He was tempted, he was spit upon, he was beaten and abused but he did not give up because he loves us and wanted us to be happy. Our Heavenly Father has a plan for us to return to him! THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST! if we follow his teachings and follow the council of the prophet and his apostles we shall have eternal life =) and we will be together as families FOREVER! =D =D Share the gospel with EVERYONE! Just INVITE others. Invite. who care if they say no. Everyone has their agency, but we as members have a divine duty to share this good news with others. Everyone deserves the opportunity to accept or decline the gospel =)

Love,

Sister Kersey Davis
