Week 56

This week has been really great! I can't believe i have been in Fontana for 2 months now! Weeks are going by WAY WAY to FAST! it's freakin' me out!

Sooooo hott....... one time... we were walking out side, just dying of heat! then we get in the car and i frantically search for a water... I found one in the back seat and pore it in my mouth and guess what!?!?! the water was so hot it almost burnt my tongue! ha ha! that's been happening alot lately.

I spoke in Church this week, it was really fun! I actually really love speaking =D maybe someday i can become a motivational speaker!!! ehhh probably not.... i don't have an exciting/crazy/triumphing enough of a life... EITHER WAY it i still enjoy it! i still get way nervous and shake the whole podium but..... who doesn't! anyway I spoke on D&C 101:77-80... go read it..... yea... i read that and thought "what the heck..........................." read it again "uh.................................." so i prayed to know what i should base my talk on and what the Oleander needed and I received that inspiration to talk about Agency.

A member took us out to eat at a local Burger place. Sister Young and I dared each other to eat the peppers they had! ouch... i have a weak tongue!

God is our Heavenly Father, we are his Children and he loves us so much. He has created a PERFECT plan for us. A really important part of Gods plan is Agency. Agency is the freedom to choose. God doesn't want to force us to do anything.

The way that we use our Agency determines our happiness or misery in this life and in the life to come. We are free to act, to do whatever! but we are not free to choose the consequences of our actions.

This is ALL part of gods plan, He wants us to LEARN< GROW> and to gain EXPERIENCE in this life. We do this by making decisions.

We pick up trash almost EVERY day! I actually really enjoy it =) we have a lot of people approach us to see what the heck we are doing picking up trash in our skirts ha ha. This day i found 5 dollars!!! WHOOOOAAH!

In the Book "our Search for Happiness" (my favorite book...) it perfectly describes Agency. "We tend to think of Agency in a personal way. Ask someone to define "moral agency' and they'll probably come up with something like this "moral agency means i'm free to make choices for myself." But we forget that agency sometimes we are going to be adversely affected by the way other people choose to exercise their agency.

One Exactly one year ago on Sunday Sister Tu Browne was baptized in rialto! She was the first person I have ever helped receive baptism on my mission =) and now she is in the ward i am now serving in! now Sister Buswell and i get to teach her the after baptism lessons. It has been a complete miracle. I love her! She glows with the spirit!

Heavenly Father feels so strongly about protecting our moral agency that he will ALLOW all of his Children to exercise it-for good and for evil." I love how it says God feels so STRONGLY about protecting our agency. I want to talk about a few people who's agency has impacted my life. . .

First my parents. Because my parents Chose to follow Christ, Chose to take us to church and Chose to try their hardest to teach us I am the person i am today. Because of my mom and dad's choices we were able to be sealed as a family for time and all eternity when i was in 2nd grade. Because of their choices i Now have a firth foundation in Christ. Because of the Choice my parents made I am now on a mission and my life has completely changed. I am so grateful to have such hard working, perceiving parents. I wouldn't be the person I am today with out them.

By the end of the night i am just absolutely EXHAUSTED!!!
But i get up everyday and serve the Lord all over again because i love him =)

Last the most important person in my life and the person who's agency has had the BIGGEST effect in my life is my Savior Jesus Christ. Read... Mathew 26:39. Jesus Christ had agency too! he could have chosen to give up. On one of my missionary planners it says " I am so grateful the Jesus Christ chose to endure to the end completing the atonement"  Because of the choice he made to ENDURE all that he endured I now know that i can repent, I can change. You can change. Because of him i will live again with my Heavenly Father. I love Jesus Chirst so much. He is my Hero, both literally and.... uh... idk... i look up to him. I want to be like him. He is the most amazing big brother i could ask for. I can't wait to see him again and give him a big hug.

Well crap... i don't have any time to tell you about my week now... sorry! it was a great week! Many miracles =) and lots of sweating. I love you all!

Love,
Sister Kersey Davis

Week 55

Hola everyone! it's been another Great week here in Fontana! The temperature has actually been pretty cool, in the 90's, but we are expecting another heat wave coming up pretty soon... bring on the sweaty-beastness!!! My mission has flown by! i can't believe i only have.... 4 3/4 months left... wow. I have been blessed SO much being out here. There are so many amazing son's and daughters out here in Southern California.

Had to take a glamour shot...
I feel so honored to be the representative of Jesus Christ here in Fontana

On Thursday Sister Buswell and I had an appointment with a spanish lady we met while walking last week. We arrived at her house and she lets us in and her 19 year old daughter joins us. We talked for a few minutes then we asked if we could share with them what has blessed our families. They said YES and inside i was like "OH. my. GOSH, oh my gosh oh my oh my" OK HERE WE GO! and we teach them the restoration and the spirit was sooo present. They had the perfect questions and agreed to be baptized if they come to know it is true. I'm so grateful for the spirit and for the simple truths that the Restoration lesson includes. I'm so excited to teach them again this Sunday!

we wrote on the chalk the plan of salvation! because a few weeks ago we found a piece and wrote "God is your Heavenly Father" then our number and someone texted us!!

Yesterday at church a man gave a talk on Temples. He told us a story about how his mom told him that the Temples is where he would be able to feel her spirit. Before she dies she said "Don't visit me at my grave site, visit me in the temple". I thought that was BEAUTIFUL. The temple is truly the most sacred place we can be. I miss the temple so much and i am so grateful there is one being build in Ogden! I invite all of you who have temple recommends to USE THEM! the temple is one of the way our Heavenly Father can bless us. GO. I promise that you will receive answers, you will feel peace and comfort. It is a refuge from the world. If you haven't yet received a temple recommend, make it a goal to get one. I promise you that as you do you will grow spiritually and that your perspective on life will change! Eternal blessing are waiting... go get them! and continue to go get them!

Nosotros somos las misionaras de la inglesia de jesue cristo de los santos los ultimos diasi am so spanish.

I was able to go back to Yucca Valley to see Josh and Diana Persinger be baptized =) wow it was probably one of the best days of my mission!!! The spirit was SOOO SRONG. I'm so happy for them and i feel so blessed that i had the opportunity to share with them the restored gospel and the happiness it has brought me.

Week 54

IT RAINED!!! WOWOWOWOWOW!

Sooo... amazing experience with Darlene and Guillermo.... we went over for a lesson and their step brothers where there and we invited them to join us.... and.... surprisingly they did!?!? we were like ah crap... we've gotta change up the lesson! but actually we decided not to change it ... the lesson worked out perfectly! we read the intro to the Book of Mormon and talked about prayer and receiving answers to prayer. Towards the end of our lesson their little brother comes in and says "guys where is my bird!?!" i left it right here! whoops... none of us were paying attention to the baby parrot in the middle of the room and he got LOST! so we all jump up and start searching for the parrot... about 7 minutes later we say "hey how about we pray to find Jeniffer" we all got down on our knees and prayed that we would be able to find her. after the prayer we sit there for a minute and think... then we get up to search and 3 minutes later we found her!!!! I hope they and their 6 year old brother will never forget that experience of prayers being answered, i know i won't.

OK COOLEST! so... we have an potential investigator from africa and during personal study i was pondering about what we could do and what we could give her slash an excuse for us to stop by... and the ensign popped into my head! so i go over to our bunches of ensigns and i grab one hoping to find an african article.. i couldnt find one in there... i knew i didn't have time to go through ALL of them so i decide to ask for help From God.... i pray that he would help me find something that Chafet would enjoy. I ended my prayer and grab an ensign and open it up to this page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow.... i was deffinetly humbled... alot of times i think i can do things by myself without Gods help, this experience taught me that i should be more prayerful =)

Ok this is a HORRIBLE picture but... the story is cool... ok so we were walking to an appointment and we run into this Mexican guy selling snow cones, corn and chips! he speaks no english and i speak very little spanish... he offers us a free snow cone so we take it... we get in the car and i say "what the heck why didn't i give him this El libro De mormon for his payment!?!?!?" so we speed down the road to catch up and i just out and offer him a dollar he says "NO" i yell "PORQUE!!?!?!" he yells"porque no!!!" i say... "ok, will you take this,, it will bless your life more than the money anyway" and he takes the El Libro de mormon happily =)                   a little later in the day we do our daily community service and pick up the trash around the park and guess who we see again!!!! Rojuar, the corn, snow cone man! This time he offers us this corn with pepper stuff and butter and cheese! it was really good/messy. This time we ask him for his address so the spanish sisters can visit him! then... a few hours later we ran into him again!!!! he gave us a cup of ice =) he was the sweetest spanish man i have ever met! i hope he receives the gospel and feels the spirit when he reads the Book of Mormon.

on Sundays i usually curl my hair =) this sunday was AWESOME!  A new bishop was FINALLY called and we had 5 less active members show up! it was so amazing. I was so happy!=)

This week we taught a woman named Chafet. She is from Africa and let us into her home. We invited her to the pot we are having in a few weeks... sister Buswell and i both were prompted to teach her the restoration... we ask her if she would like to learn more about what we believe and she said YES!!! i was FREAKING out inside....... ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh... we taught her and the spirit was so strong! my heart was pounding. towards the end we invited her to pray and read the Book of Mormon. She accepted. I am so excited to see her again! She has a sincere heart and desire to know and follow God. I know she will receive an answer =)

Selfy =) me and sister young. ps... i got that shirt for 1 dollar!

OH MY WORD!! Darlene and Guillermo came to church this week!!! I don't know if i've talked about them before... they are brother and sister, 17 and 18 years old. They have been meeting with missionaries for 1 year now. They have the sweetest spirits and i love them so much! I want them to have the gospel so bad! they are soooo close. They have a sincere desire to find out if the Book of Mormon is true, we are going to start reading with them every week! The spirit is always so strong when we teach them because they are so ready and open to what we say.

I love being a missionary! i am so blessed to have this opportunity =)
