Week 59

HI =D

I'm going to start off with my funnies/randoms this week

I accidentally bought a 20 dollar car wash...................... =/ i was so ticked for like 2 minutes.

it got to 85 degrees a few nights ago and i got the chills! i was so cold ha ha i am for real turning into a California girl

Sister Buswell and I are together again for another 6 weeks! we are so excited to see what God needs us here for and what we can learn.

I found out I might have something called trypophobia. I think that's what it is called... Kenzy and Kirby have it too!

My Companion thanked me for being clean................... uh... that was weird because i've always been kind of a messy person....

I approach a man and say "hi, we are your missionaries! is there anything we can do for you??" he starts yelling and waving his arms at me. He come really close to me and continues to yell. I just stand there and smile =) I say "have a wonderful day, bye!!"  hahahah i love experiences like that... he was so dumb founded after i said that.

Alright done.

Taking a shower is always always an adventure. . . it's too short....

Watch this video....

This week i went on exchanges with Sister Bonham! She grew up in California and now lives in Utah! we go on exchanges once every 6 weeks for about 24 hours.

I know that Satan is real. I've made many mistakes in my life. He has tempted me, and i have given in. It's all part of Gods plan. God allows Satan to tempt us so that we can become stronger so we can overcome Satan. I know that Repentance is real. I know that we can change. I know that we can become clean as we repent and change. I am grateful for what i have learned from the mistakes i have made.I am SO grateful. that i have this opportunity to tell people this message. That they can change.

If there is anyone out there reading this and is wondering if they are worthy enough to go on a mission or to go to the temple or to do whatever. You can be. You are already on the right path if you are even thinking about changing. Just go talk to your bishop. He will help, it's not that bad! i might be awkward and painful for a minute. But i promise you it will be worth it.

Love, Sister Kersey Davis

The cute little kids we always talk to when we go to this trailer park. the little boy to my right is who I call "brother Hugo" We want to teach his family SOO bad... they are planning on coming to an activity this weekend at the church... so excited!

Week 58

This week FLEW by!

At the beginning of the week i made Popsicles! they were so yummy and sour!

We did ACTUAL service on Friday!!!! it was soooo amazing! We picked a bunch of weeds, actually we picked a TON of weeds. It was for a mother and a daughter that we met through a member referral. They actually bought the house of members who are now living in Rialto, so they love Mormons! they asked us a ton of questions and invited us to come over for dinner this week =D they are such good people i can't wait to share the gospel with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we watched the "because of him"video with them as we were leaving and the daughter was actually tearing up because she Loves her savior so much! I LOVE SERVICE!!! I love helping others =) I wish people would let us do stuff like this more often....

Our investigators cancelled on us AGAIN ............................................................................. are you kiddin' me. . . . . .

Last night we were talking to a Less active that we are working with, who is doing amazing!!! and is totally coming back because of the spirit of the Lord prompting them to change. anyway.... he was talking about the kingdoms or glory and how he kind of always thought that he wouldn't never make it to the Celestial Kingdom. He figured that was the place where people who served "high up" in the church and did LOTS of Amazing works in this life. YEs... they will be there too... BUT us Normal people will be there too! it was so cool seeing him realize  that he has a HUGE chance in being their with his family.

we ate dinner at the park! yummy i love popcorn for dinner! Kettle corn MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! i'm also lovin peanuts alot lately

There is a really good talk from:
Bruce R. McConkie, "The Probationary Test of Mortality."
(delivered at the University of Utah Jan. 10, 1982)

We don't need to get a complex or get a feeling that you have to be perfect to be saved. You don't. There's only been one perfect person, and that's the Lord Jesus, but in order to be saved in the Kingdom of God and in order to pass the test of mortality, what you have to do is get on the straight and narrow path – thus charting a course leading to eternal life – and then, being on that path, pass out of this life in full fellowship. I'm not saying that you don't have to keep the commandments.I'm saying you don't have to be perfect to be saved. If you did, no one would be saved. The way it operates is this: You get on the path that's named the "straight and narrow." You do it by entering the gate of repentance and baptism. The straight and narrow path leads from the gate of repentance and baptism, a very great distance, to a reward that's called eternal life. If you're on that path and pressing forward, and you die, you'll never get off the path. There is no such thing as falling off the straight and narrow path in the life to come, and the reason is that this life is the time that is given to men to prepare for eternity. Now is the time and the day of your salvation, so if you're working zealously in this life – though you haven't fully overcome the world and you haven't done all you hoped you might do – you're still going to be saved. You don't have to do what Jacob said, "Go beyond the mark." You don't have to live a life that's truer than true. You don't have to have an excessive zeal that becomes fanatical and becomes unbalancing. What you have to do is stay in the mainstream of the Church and live as upright and decent people live in the Church – keeping the commandments, paying your tithing, serving in the organizations of the Church, loving the Lord, staying on the straight and narrow path. If you're on that path when death comes – because this is the time and the day appointed, this is the probationary estate – you'll never fall off from it, and, for all practical purposes, your calling and election is made sure.

Lunch with the other Sisters! we have so much fun together =D Sister Magleby from st. George, Sister Young from....?? Highland UT, Sister Buswell from North Ogden. Then ME from Zion =D

Everyone just try your hardest. I promise you you will be happy and that Our Heavenly Father WANTS ALL OF US BACK HOME. ALL OF US. All we have to do is follow Christ's Gospel.

Week 57

This week has been kind of rough.... BUT sister Buswell and I have stayed positive and have NEVER quit. We have fun every day, I feel like we have been laughing AAALLLL week. It has been a blessing to have humor and positive thinking in the work. I invite you all to be humorous!
I have ALWAYS been Obsessed with dogs. When i was little i got stuffed dogs for Christmas and when i made a goal in soccer =) I got a stuffed dog EXACTLY like this one man Christmas's ago! one of our investigators had this sitting on their coach!! brought back many memories =)

I have always been interested on the topic "receiving revelation" or in simple terms... answers to prayer.  I feel like i have always struggled with that... I love reading and pondering this topic. this week i read in preach my gospel page 101 on recognizing the spirit.

“[A person may have] a strong desire to be led by the Spirit of the Lord but … unwisely extends that desire to the point of wanting to be led in all things. A desire to be led by the Lord is a strength, but it needs to be accompanied by an understanding that our Heavenly Father leaves many decisions for our personal choices. Personal decision making is one of the sources of the growth we are meant to experience in mortality. Persons who try to shift all decision making to the Lord and plead for revelation in every choice will soon find circumstances in which they pray for guidance and don’t receive it. For example, this is likely to occur in those numerous circumstances in which the choices are trivial or either choice is acceptable.
“We should study things out in our minds, using the reasoning powers our Creator has placed within us. Then we should pray for guidance and act upon it if we receive it. If we do not receive guidance, we should act upon our best judgment. Persons who persist in seeking revelatory guidance on subjects on which the Lord has not chosen to direct us may concoct an answer out of their own fantasy or bias, or they may even receive an answer through the medium of false revelation” (“Our Strengths Can Become Our Downfall,” Ensign, Oct. 1994, 13–14).
Fontana is Beautiful! actually this earth is beautiful! God is good.

We need not forget that our Heavenly Father has sent us here to learn. He has given us our agency to choose. As we make choices prayerfully he will guide us. That doesn't mean that he will make the choice for us but that as we ACT in faith he will confirm to us through the spirit that what we are doing is what God wants us to do. I know that is true because i have experience that exact thing in my life. Answers to pray come in many ways! But they all involve ACTION filled faith. Here is an awesome video on a "God works in mysterious ways" kind of answer to pray.

Cutest little Boston tarrier ever!!!!!!! Even sister Buswelll thought it was cute =D

Funnies/cools/interestings of the week:

we Met a bounty Hunter!!?!?!?!? you kiddin me... that was awesome! a for real bounty hunter.

hmm... i can't think of any others... ok i'll tell you about the miracles we had this week! we had many.

we text a less active family we are working with to see how they are doing... they are now reading and praying as a family!! everyday!!! WHAT!?!?! we didn't even tell them to do that... I am so grateful for the spirit. I know that they are ready and their hearts are open to the prompting of the spirit. I feel so blessed to be in their lives right now.

Sister Nora Baker Galdamez from Yucca Valley got me an origami owl necklace!!!!  WHAT!?!?!??! i've worn it everyday since saturday =) i love it so much. it has 4 little charms inside that describe me perfectly! it has a dog =) a camara, a cactus and a CTR thing!

We were headed to our next appointment and.. no one was home... so we head back to the car and we decide "NO, we planned to come to this area last night for a reason, lets go find that reason" so we continue walking down the street and we meet a family sitting in their garage. We introduced ourselves and had some casual convo... we told them of our message and they were all interested. They Son came to church this sunday and the elders are planning on teaching him this week!!!

Church FLEW by. I was SOOO focussed on the 2 investigators we had there and other members of the church that i didn't even recognize that i was absolutely STARVING. I am so much happier when i forget about myself.

This week we were running low on food...... and guess what!?!? God provided. Thanks mom and dad for the food! I didn't even tell them!

There were many other small miracles that i could talk about but you all wouldn't even know what i was talking about ha ha so i just want to invite you all to look for the small miracles that happen each day in your life.

I'm so grateful that i have the opportunity to share what has made me happy with others. I love the people i teach so much.... I can't even imagine how much God loves them. It's an amazing feeling to feel even just an ounce of love that our Heavenly Father has for his Children here in Fontana.

Love,
Sister Kersey Davis
